    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was very well structured and packed with a good mix of work exposure, networking, teach-in sessions and conference calls to listen/attend. There were also intern specific activities i.e. the CSR challenge and networking events which were relaxing and fun.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued within both my rotations as my colleagues were sincere and accommodative to my questions and doubts, whether on the projects I was working on or any questions in general

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • A lot of support and guidance given throughout my 10 weeks! It was easy to approach and speak to my line managers, as well as fellow interns and my buddy. Everyone was open and easy to connect with

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Initially, the work load wasn't as much as I expected it to be. However as I progressed further into the internship, more responsibilities and work was passed on to me and there were quite a few late nights in the office but those were the days in which I really learnt a lot and met a lot of people across the floor

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Quite a bit and as mentioned before, the workload increased and the difficulty of the work done also increased as I progressed through my internship tenure. I feel that it was a good mix of work given and the fact that work done was actually to be used on actually presentation and pitches to clients was very reassuring and made me want to perform even better

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There were a lot of transferable skills from both desks i rotated on which will be helpful as i move into my final year at university. Particularly, skills like networking, time management, attention to detail, communication and writing skills as well as research and presentation abilities.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly atmosphere! There were a couple of people who were harder to approach, but in general, most people were very friendly, approachable and welcoming - whether junior or senior level staff as well as fellow interns. I really enjoy working with the people from RBS and would love to continue working with them

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Really well structured. As mentioned before, it was a good mix of activities which tested hard/technical skills as well as soft skills.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I believe they tried to expose us to as many products/information as possible and try to spoonfeed us with knowledge but always asking us to think and ask the questions ourselves. The best way to learn is to ask the questions yourself and come to answer yourself, and i believe quite a few of the people i worked with really gave me that push to really question and think about the questions i am asking and to learn from my questions

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am looking forward to with RBS because the people within the organisation are really friendly and hospitable! They also challenge the way I think and push me to improve myself, work wise as well as on a personal note.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, our group of interns will try to meet up once a week to catch up (at the end of the week) but we always have meet-ups everyday and we go around asking everyone how their day was, and also help out if anyone needs help

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expensive but I guess this is unavoidable because we are living in London. But i think it will be manageable

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not sure, didnt have much free time from work to go

    3/5
