The Role
I did enjoy my time at RBS. However sometimes I felt as though there was no real structure to the placement, and was sometimes doing work that was perhaps tasks that other people did not want to do.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, especially towards the second half of the internship when i was undertaking independent work which was adding value to the everyday work.
At the start, a lot of guidance. Towards the end, less so. Perhaps due to holidays etc, but when senior members left there was little guidance
This very much varied. I was never over busy, but sometimes did end up being quite bored.
As many members of staff left / went on holiday, I was a full part of the team and contributing very much, taking on a lot of responsibility.
Many of the lending and analytical skills will definitely help me in my future professional career.
The Company
The atmosphere was professional but also very fun. As it was a small office, everybody was very close and friendly.
I dont think there was very much organisation. THere could have been better programmes etc for interns, especially the intern project which did not seem to relate to our work.
Quite a lot of personal training by my line manager, but other than that i did not gain much more than the initial week of teaching, much of which wasn't too applicable to the day to day work.
Financial Bonus
Quite appealing.
The Culture
There was, but i was placed in a small office which meant not much
Quite expensive
