The Role
Well organised, everyone was very supportive and learnt a lot during the internship about myself and the bank.
Highly - everyone was very supportive even senior executives in the business
Both my line managers went out of their way to guide me during my internship and help me decide which areas suits me the best. They were always available when I needed them despite their busy schedules.
Quite busy - but this is highly dependant on your line manager, your own capacity and how much work is simply available in that team/division.
Quite a fair amount - this is again depends on you as an individual. It would have been nice if I was given more responsibility and my projects had a bigger impact.
I gained a lot of soft skills, however I can't say there was much that would help me in my studies. Nonetheless, the skills learnt are transferable and could yield long term benefits.
The Company
Supportive, laid back and fun.
There was some communication errors/delays before and during the internship, otherwise everything went really smoothly and you can tell that RBS has invested a lot in all the interns.
This was highly up to the candidate - the support was available but it was up to you to seek for the training. It would have been nice if the line managers spent/gave more time to interns to invest in their development.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
The bank has many opportunities and this is up to the candidate to seek them out. Networking with the right people goes a long way! Your line managers are very supportive in helping you decided the right career path and how to get there. However, you have to be ambitious enough to seek this out and go for it!
The Culture
There was an excellent social atmosphere within my team. Everyone seemed to get on really well with each other, and regularly met up after work. This made it much easier to settle into the team and colleagues were more than happy to help you out when you asked for it.
Not too bad, but wouldn't say cheap either.
Pretty awesome!
Yes, but this wasn't advertised to the interns as much as it could have been.
