The Role
The job was challenging and allowed me to experience various parts of the business, I also feel as though I was given a large amount of responsibilty.
The colleagues made us feel welcome from day one, and we were comfortable with everyone in the office by the end of the first week. They also entrusted me with serious work which I feel validated the value they had for myself.
From the start of the internship right to the end the managers in the team were on hand to help with any issues that I encountered, and they also made a lot of time to aid me with my development.
At the beginning the involvement was rather slow but it only gathered momentum as time went on. By the end of the internship, I had a very busy schedule, which was what I had wanted from day one.
I was given a lot of responsibilty, I was entrusted with going out on client meetings and handling their needs from start to finish with a large amount of autonomy.
I feel that the skills I have developed will help in any Commercial Banking environement, and that the skills will be very helpful when starting on graduate schemes next year.
The Company
Always positive throughout the ten weeks.
The set up was unclear to begin with, but as the time elapsed the clarity of the organisation improved.
A lot of time was invested from senior members of staff, which was invaluable.
Subsidised Canteen
If offered a position I would intend to accept, based on the variety of work and the time invested in me by senior staff.
The Culture
In Birmingham there were no events, but London and Edinburgh had events.
Very low, and was more than covered by the salary.
I didnt experience any.
Very limited in Birmingham.
