    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement within C&RA. I was able to rotate departments so was able to gain experience in both advisory and assurance. I really enjoyed the charity challenge that all interns had to take part in.

  • My teams were very welcoming and happy to give me work and responsibility

  • One of my two line managers was very helpful and supported me on my tasks, the other didnt organise any work for me and I had to source it for myself

  • I was able to help with rearranging methodologies and helped with review work

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This area of work is completely different to my degree course but built upon the analytical skills that i use during science experiments. I was exposed to a range of banking departments and products which was very interesting

  • Generally the atmosphere was good, Advisory was a lot more friendly and welcoming that assurance

  • We did not find out our placement location till very late and our teams not till the night before

  • We were able to take GPLs but no formal, department specific training was given
