The Role
I really enjoyed my placement within C&RA. I was able to rotate departments so was able to gain experience in both advisory and assurance. I really enjoyed the charity challenge that all interns had to take part in.
My teams were very welcoming and happy to give me work and responsibility
One of my two line managers was very helpful and supported me on my tasks, the other didnt organise any work for me and I had to source it for myself
I was able to help with rearranging methodologies and helped with review work
This area of work is completely different to my degree course but built upon the analytical skills that i use during science experiments. I was exposed to a range of banking departments and products which was very interesting
The Company
Generally the atmosphere was good, Advisory was a lot more friendly and welcoming that assurance
We did not find out our placement location till very late and our teams not till the night before
We were able to take GPLs but no formal, department specific training was given
