The Role
I enjoyed certain aspects however I did not feel challenged the whole time, sometimes being left with little to do.
Given reasonable levels of responsibility and hence completed projects that were important for client meetings.
My line manager was useful in supporting my development through learning sessions as well as placing me with senior members within the office to fully exploit the opportunity.
Some days were very busy with projects & presentations, however there were several occasions where I was left with little to do.
Some projects the I completed were of high responsibility, in particular changing clients payment fees and making the bank money, whilst at other times there was not sufficient work
Skills were enhanced throughout the process and it has provided me with the tools and confidence for further applications
The Company
Atmosphere within the office was very welcoming and always upbeat
My line manager was very organised in understanding the deadlines that I had to complete and providing me with work.
Given one week of training at the start to provide me with the required knowledge to complete the program
The internship has highlighted that within commercial banking there are very few opportunities to progress upwards and hence it is not particularly appealing
