The Role
A well rounded and informative internship that gave a great insight into the bank and its future direction.
All of my colleagues seemed to find my help useful and wanted to involve me in their work, as such, i learned a great deal about the work my colleagues do.
My line manager was very interested in my future and not just the work i was doing at RBS, as such i have come out of the experience with a better idea of what i want to do and in what areas i want to work.
This varied, most days were full, however, as to be expected, some days were very quiet with not a lot of work to do.
I was given a lot of responsibility in terms of internal interaction with other areas of the bank and to some extent with regards to meeting clients and presenting what we can do to help them.
Although some of the work i have done will definitely be useful in terms of my future studies, the specificity to banking that most of the work was made it less useful for a general business management degree.
The Company
Everyone was very willing to help and include me with their work and outside of the office i had a lot of interaction with my team and so got to know them more personally too.
This was varied, with some areas much better organised than others.
This was very positive most due to my line managers assistance with my personal development and future plans.
Very.
The Culture
Not a lot was organised in terms of social events, so although the social life with those that i met and got along with well was good, there was little scope for meeting other interns.
Very expensive part of the world, but pay was good enough to manage.
Huge number of options with regards to pubs, bars and clubs in London.
Not a huge amount to get involved in outside of work, apart from some team exercises.
