The Role
I really enjoyed my experience at RBS. It allowed us to gain an insight into the functioning of RBS and helped me develop a true understanding of what it would be like to work in an organisation like RBS. Everyone I met was helpful and happy and willing to give their time to help me have as positive an experience as possible. The work was challenging and the internship allowed me to get really involved in important pieces of work and although sometimes it was difficult, it was a true representation of what working life will be like and there was always help on hand.
My colleagues were helpful and supportive and always gave feedback to help me develop my knowledge and skills.
My manager was extremely supportive and always keen to help me with any areas of development and in everyday tasks. My buddy was also a huge support throughout this process and I have never felt overwhelmed or alone/
I was busy on a daily basis working from around 8:30-5:30/6. Although this may seem challenging I enjoyed being busy and appreciated being trusted to be involved in so many pieces of work.
I was given much more responsibility than i expected - i felt valued and involved in the team.
My presentation skills and confidence in myself have developed considerably since doing this internship and these are valuable skills that will help me in the future.
The Company
Very good - friendly and relaxed but work was taken seriously.
There was a lack of communication sometimes but generally very good.
I was asked to do several online learning modules and i was allowed to meet with people from various different areas of the business. My manager provided me with many materials to help me improve my areas of development as identified at the start of the internship.
