The Role
This is a very hard placement, so natually didnt enjoy every moment, however is an incredible opportunity to meet loads of people, work with motivated students and to see the state in which your working in
There is alot of support from the managers and offer Dealers, Made a ton of quality friends
There experience and understading is unparelled in much of the working world, not least because they have and continue to do the same job as the dealers. On top of that the training is incredible for both sales and management
Work 13 hrs a day 6 days a week and did activities on sundays so very busy
You are responsible for how well you do, Its your business so have full responsibility of what you do in a day
Going into business and sales rather than engineering so was fundamental in my future career plans
The Company
Its not office work, but the majority of people are cool
The structure of the internship has been around for years so is very organised
Recieved over 80hours sales training before each summer Recieved over 100hrs of management training which were hosted in Scotland, Spain and America
International Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I now work for one of the 20odd sister companies and for those with a proven track record there is a chance to gain investment from southwestern to start a business of your own
The Culture
The social scene is not the typical going out and getting smashed on a weekend - during the summer it a chance to experience american culture - from waterparks, whitewater rafting baseball and football (american) games. And at the end of the summer there is plenty of time to party in nashville. Plus for thos that win the sizzler trip a chance to rock out in gambia for a week with students from all over europe
With this being a a busy there is a big emphasis on keeping your expenses low. So you typically only need money for food, travel around the area rent and sundays so between $100 and $200 depending on how well you loook after your money.
Its AWESOME in Nashville and in gatlinburg at the end of summer- but didnt experince it during the summer.
Yes on sundays - went - go karting, college football game, baseball game, Big US Dinner , Water Parks, National Parks, whitewater rafting even the zoo - and much more
