The Role
I truly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity I was given. Liked the learning process, the people and work I was exposed to.
Depending on the rotation I was on, all colleagues were open to help you and to show you the business, but it depends on the connection you build with the desk.
I was lucky enough to be supported and guided by my line managers with the right extent to have the possibility to develop myself on the internship.
As always, some days were busier than others. I appreciated all work and responsibility I was given and the desk were responsible in giving me work to help them add value on the desk.
The right amount of responsibility to know what you are working on, while still asking questions and improve yourself
I believe practical insights helps the understanding of theoretical studies in university and an internship is the best opportunity to develop the most during university.
The Company
Depends on the desk I rotated on. All desk were united and worked in a nice, friendly, yet professional atmosphere.
RBS internships are well organised, focused on the well being of the interns, however more structured guidance could be given to line managers and interns before and during the internship.
I felt like RBS truly invested in Markets interns and saw genuine possibility for future collaboration through guidance and development
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Future employment prospects are very appealing, but better guidance should have been given at the beginning of the internship to know what you are assessed against.
The Culture
Great social events between networks, more events with seniors should be proposed
London is the most expensive place on earth, but it's worth it
Liverpool street has great bars and exposure to Shoreditch clubs
As much as possible
