The Role
I enjoyed my time at RBS. I think the process was good and I have learnt a lot in my time here. The broad range of desks you were given exposure to was a highlight of the internship.
Dependent on the desk that you were on. Some desks valued you and tried to use your skills more. Some desks didn't or found it difficult to give you tasks.
The feedback given through the process was good.
Again this was desk dependent. Some desks would give you a lot of work and keep you busy. Other desks would give you a lighter workload but give you more of a chance to meet people and learn about different desks. It was a good variety of workload.
This was dependent on your desk. I would say overall I was given some responsibility
I think I have learnt a lot during the internship and I have gained some valuable skills.
The Company
I liked the atmosphere on the desk. It was friendly and not too intense.
The FX program was very organised but the credit program wasn't so structured. This wasn't actually a bad thing. The credit program gave you the chance to show some initiative and meet and learn about different desks.
The firm invested a lot in me. The induction program was good and well organised. The firm could have invested in providing the interns with Bloomberg access. Some interns got access and others didn't which I felt limited how useful interns could be.
The future prospects are very appealing. It is definitely something I want to do.
