The Role
The markets internship provided a good insight to fixed income and fx sales and trading, the people are very easy to get along with but there is a fundamental lack of expectation for the interns.
Depended entirely on the desk.
Again desk dependent.
Not very.
No responsibility of any genuine significance.
Not relevant to my degree at all, but gave a useful insight into what a future career in investment banking might look like.
The Company
Mostly very welcoming.
Lack of communication regarding what is expected of interns during the time.
They provided some training, but this could have been much more structured and in depth.
The Culture
Yes.
Expect to pay over £200/week just for rent. Social scene is another £100/week
Its london
Not much time outside of the working hours
