The Role
The internship was a great experience. It was tough but rewarding as we got to experience what trading is like hands on. You were treated like an analyst whilst continuously getting support from more senior people around you; regardless of their title, people were always keen to discuss your ideas.
As an intern, I felt very valued by my team. The tasks and projects I was set were things that were going to be used by the team hence you felt like you were adding value which was always nice. One thing to bear in mind is that people are very busy most of time, particularly if some team members are on holiday so sometimes it can be tough to get their time.
I was always given support with my projects or any other work by my manager or other members of the team. During the rotation half way through the internship, I was given feedback on what to improve as well as clear guidance whether I was on track for a job offer or not. My old manager continued to support me even once I moved desks.
It really depends. There were days where you would barely had time to grab lunch, where as others you were pretty free (for example whilst you are waiting for someone to get back to you with more information/get access to systems). Be prepared to do a lot of independent research as there is always plenty to learn!
There was a lot expected from interns, in particular to produce high quality work, but there was not much responsibility given. That is perfectly understandable though, as a trading intern, you are very restricted by what you can do without being approved by the FCA. Nevertheless, there were a lot of high pressure situations during the internship.
The skills gained were great and will be very beneficial regardless of what career I pursue, but being a mathematician, there wasn't much applicable to my degree
The Company
The atmosphere was great!
Internship was very well set up with a huge range of presentations, teach-ins, social evens organised. The rotation half way through the internship was also very well organised. The whole process seemed very smooth and well thought out. From day one we were given all the information we will need and knew who to contact if something went wrong.
The company truly invested an incredible amount into their interns.

Very, we will find out whether we are offered a full time place on the last day of the internship.
The Culture
Yes, the intern group was great.
Typical London prices.
I was in Canary Wharf, but there are plenty of pubs around for drinks after work and always head into central London for the clubs.
