The Role
The Job had lots of responsibility for a placement year job. Therefore meaning the work was easier to enjoy. The working atmosphere at IBM was also very good.
The team always valued my contribution and told you.
The management team were very supportive and were keen to help you progress.
There were times when it was really busy but this never stopped you from having a social life.
Lots of responsibility was given. I was running some of my own deals.
The skills picked up in this placement helped me alot in my final year at uni. I am now using many of them in the job i am currently doing.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere in our team. Often involving team outings.
It was very well set up. Including a week long induction scheme at a seperate location with other placement year students.
If you wanted to go on a course they would support you. However this would be down to you to organise.

I know many people who have gone back. Although it was something i decided not to do.
The Culture
There was a really good social scene. We all still stay in contact regulary and i am living with one friend who i met there.
Portsmouth was a fairly cheap location.
The nightlife was good, but it helped there was plenty of us to go out.
I believe there were opportunities, although i did not take advantage of these.
