The Role
I was and Application Developer, and since the job was not your everyday programming, I really enjoyed broadening my coding skills
Team is fantastic. Helped me a lot and I learned loads from them
They answered every question, helped me with the setup
Busy busy busy, therefore I really liked it. It is more up to what you want to achieve. If you really enjoy what you're doing, it doesn't matter how busy you are
I had my personal project. I had to gather requirements, interact with business and then deliver an end to end project
Apart from the social skills, I know a lot of JS and Java now
The Company
People knew when to work and when to have fun. The life inside the office is fantastic, something not many expect from a job in the banking industry
I had some issues with the setup in the beginning, but after this was solved, everything ran smoothly
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare/Dental
I will have my final review in a couple of hours, but I'm confident I will get a job with them. Everyone was impressed with my project and everybody said I did solid work.
The Culture
Zone 1 in London is expensive, everybody knows that, but the salary is good, so it was OK in the end. Managed to save money for a 2015 top ultrabook and to pay half of the next year's rent in Manchester
Not really much nightlife. We're talking about Canary Wharf here, but it is full of pubs and restaurants so if you want a pint after work, you have loads of options
