The Role
It was great to get an insight into the work of a commerical law firm and I enjoyed seeing what I will hopefully be doing in the future.
Everybody was very friendly, I simply rated it a 7 becaue 'like family' seems a little strong.
I was given feedback on all the work I did but sometimes I think it is hard for busy people to find work at the right level and explain it.
It really varied, some days I had lots to do, other days hardly anything. I still enjoyed it as I did legal researc for myself and read the legal press. I also had an assessment centre at the end of the placement so I used my free time to prepare for this.
It was only a 2 week placement so I was hardly expecting responsibility. I attended some client meetings and drinks with other firms so it was nice to be invited to those.
The point of a placement like this is to see how well you fit into the firm. It's basically a 2 week job interview. All the exposure to areas of law I have had is invaluable, regardless of ending up at this firm or not.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and sociable.
The most organised placement I have done. We had clear timetables of where to go and when etc.
People give up their time to talk to you/set you work. However, it is only 2 weeks so there is a limit.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I picked 5 because I don't know, we did an assessment day, find out in 2 weeks.
The Culture
I really got on well with the other students.
I'm from the North of England so London seems expensive to me.
Drinks and events every week.
