The Role
It was a very enjoyable way to spend my summer.
I was working on things that were useful, but didn't feel it was essential work. Some more responsibility would have been nice.
They are not going to useful skills in my degree, but I am now sure this is the industry I want to work in, just it might not be at Metaswitch.
The Company
My office was fun. It's been referred to as "the creche". There were stress balls thrown about, cake, wrapping up a colleagues desk when he went on holiday. The people here are lovely.
Metaswitch have obviously have a lot of interns and this does mean they know their stuff and it was well organised. Of all the internships, Metaswitch were the most organised.
My training and development plan felt largely ignored.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I am not optimistic about being offered a job here. If they gave me one, I would have to seriously consider if I would accept or not.
The Culture
The other interns were a tad anti social but there was a sense of camaraderie.
It's london. But rent was good in the company house and I could walk to work.
I went out once in London. But there were regular pub trips in Enfield
I played rounders and dodgeball whilst I was here, as well as taking part in office bake off. These were all lots of fun!!
