    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Was mostly given interesting work and received detailed feedback on it. Daily talks gave a good insight into different departments. I really enjoyed the whole experience and would be very excited to receive an offer of a training contract from the firm. I was very impressed by how well run the placement was and would definitely encourage anyone interested in the firm to apply.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Generally everyone was extremely friendly and encouraging.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • HR were brilliant and made us feel incredibly welcome. In terms of supervision from other staff it was a little mixed, mainly I think because people were busy which is understandable. Had one excellent supervisor though who went out of their way to help me and gave me some really interesting tasks.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most days I had plenty of things to do and there was always people around to ask for more work if necessary.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not much responsibilty, but this was not expected due to the type of placement it was.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The experience will be very useful for future job applications and interviews. In addition it really confirmed to me that I want to be a corporate solicitor and that Stephenson Harwood is the type of firm in which I want to work.

    5/5

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

  • Everything was really well organised.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
