The Role
Was mostly given interesting work and received detailed feedback on it. Daily talks gave a good insight into different departments. I really enjoyed the whole experience and would be very excited to receive an offer of a training contract from the firm. I was very impressed by how well run the placement was and would definitely encourage anyone interested in the firm to apply.
Generally everyone was extremely friendly and encouraging.
HR were brilliant and made us feel incredibly welcome. In terms of supervision from other staff it was a little mixed, mainly I think because people were busy which is understandable. Had one excellent supervisor though who went out of their way to help me and gave me some really interesting tasks.
Most days I had plenty of things to do and there was always people around to ask for more work if necessary.
Not much responsibilty, but this was not expected due to the type of placement it was.
The experience will be very useful for future job applications and interviews. In addition it really confirmed to me that I want to be a corporate solicitor and that Stephenson Harwood is the type of firm in which I want to work.
The Company
Fairly quiet because of the nature of the work but everyone was very friendly.
Everything was really well organised.
The firm had clearly invested a lot of time and energy into planning the placement.
Company Parties/Events
If I am lucky enough to be offered a job here I will definitely take it.
The Culture
As a group we got on well and organised lunch and drinks together. It was good to be able to support each other during the scheme.
It is expensive, but that is expected in the City!
Lots of places for drinks and dinner.
Several events were organised by the firm- drinks and bowling and dinner. We were also invited to a cricket match by some of the trainees.
