The Role
It was a fantastic year, in a supportive environment with a great group of people.
I was definitely part of the team, respected for the areas I was involved with during my placement and able to fix people's problems on a daily basis.
I was allowed to learn on my own and extend my knowledge. There was also the environment where if you got more involved yourself you learnt much more of the general skills.
Very busy environment, but lots of work to keep everyone busy.
I was given the build management role, meaning the development team were dependent on my work on a daily basis.
Debugging software in a real time environment and working in a large team of software developers reading other peoples code to solve problems.
The Company
Serious environment, with a friendly group of people who could have a good laugh and who could let their hair down.
The placement was about the Job and not as much about the placement ideas.
They allowed me to learn on the job for the new language and environment.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Working from home
They have offered a job on graduation.
The Culture
A small number of interns lead to a friendly environment which meant we could have a laugh throughout the placement.
Portsmouth can go right or wrong depending on expectations of accommodation.
Very good in Portsmouth, the Havant location itself was not so great.
It was what you made of it.
