The Role
I felt i really improved my knowledge of a community pharmacy and its daily workings. I felt that i was able to cope with the work load to the expected standard of my tutor. I really enjoyed the team work involved and felt that i devloped many personal skills as well as professional stills during the 6 weeks.
My work colleagues treated me very well, i felt welcome from the start and was never made to feel afraid to ask for help or advice.
Any support or advice i was given by my tutor was really helpful and it always clarified the issue for me. However due to being in a very busy pharmacy i didnt always get as much one to one help as maybe i could of had.
Most days were very busy with prescritions to be done or other duties to be completed. Althought being busy was good, having a bit more time to talk with my tutor without having to do duties would of been good.
I was given as much responsibility as any other member of staff to do my duties.
i think the skills i picked up were very worth while and will definitely come in useful in the future for me to develop on.
The Company
at first i thought it was a very happy shop but the longer i was there the more i realise that there was quite a bit of tension between some staff members
it was okay. i didnt get my work book on time and my tutor wasnt entirely sure what sections i was to complete
they provided me with a summer vacation pharmacy experience folder, which i enjoyed completing
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
my placement has made me keen to work with the company again
The Culture
there was no social scene on my placement. i only saw my work colleagues during working hours
i travelled into work and didnt socialise in the town where i was working
i didnt attend any in the town where i worked
not that i was aware
