The Role
I really did enjoy the internship it was much more enjoyable than I had previously thought before coming! I really enjoyed it overall and would only wish it had lasted a couple weeks longer.
Right from day one, there was a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the firm, though professional. I never thought that anyone had undervalued me or felt intimidated, people were generally friendly and open and it was easy to make new acquaintances.
Mostly depends on the job but generally I was given support from every aspect of the work load and it was absolutely great coaching. Generally, if you ask for guidance your supervisors will be more than willing to give it. How well and to what extent they do it depended on the person but I had a very positive experience overall.
Quite often I was very busy, so busy that I couldn't leave and left well past the finishing times.
Fair amount considering we were only there for 6 weeks but not enough to feel overwhelmed.
Massive variety of skill sets that you will always value.
The Company
Pretty good overall, it was quite a chilled out office and had a nice buzz about it that there was always stuff to do being in the heart of London bridge. however it was big enough to get lost sometimes and some of the interns would normally chill together in the break out area just for a little bit of fun during the day,
Very well set up, we had a really good induction with lots of socials every night and free alcohol and food so you can't go wrong as a student! it was really well organised with the interns being booked onto exciting clients of different area's, for example food clients, mobile network ones, hotels! there was a massive set of variety in the organisation and they made sure we were well looked after.
Much more than I thought before coming to the firm! They really do want you to be part of the company and do treat you and invest in you like they would for an associate of a similar standing in the firm. They pay for all the training and we were given coaching in classrooms to help us understand more about the accounting procedures.

Very appealing considering they really do want to give you an offer they make the internship as enjoyable and as relatable to the job as possible! The networking side of the internship was also great as we were able to shadow a partner of the firm which shows literally what the future employment prospects could be if you carry on with a career in E&Y
The Culture
Yeah, the students were out pretty much every Friday night at the very least however this did get quite expensive after a while!
As it was based in London, everything was very expensive but also pretty cool to be in the heart of London.
Nightlife was awesome, being in the capital meant that there were bars, pubs, clubs literally within feet of each other with happy hours and offers going on you always had something to do!
There were a fair amount but being an intern in London you don't really get a chance to/or don't want to spend extra time outside the working hours to come back to work or go off on the train to play footie after work!
