The Role
The opportunity to work within a global organisation and to be given the level of responsibility that I have had has been incredible.
I integrated within my team very well. All members of your team respect your ideas and do not just class you as a work experience student.
My performance was regularly reviewed with regular updates on what I have done well and what I can work on for the future.
Occasionaly, my role was rather hectic but all it did was help me improve my planning and organisation skills.
This is one of the areas that really shocked me on placement. Vauxhall trust in their undergraduates so much that they let them run such high profile programmes, from car launches through to the recruitment of 101 undergrads.
Some of the traning programmes that are ran through Vauxhall were really useful such as interview training and presentation skills training. A few of the other training sessions were more like refresher courses than actual training courses. This is not to say that I never got help when I needed it, just that the training for some areas was not as detailed as others.
The Company
Work hard, play harder seemed to be the general rule!
Very well. IThe undergraduate programme at Vauxhall is essential for the company to keep moving forward so they invest alot of effort, time andmoney into it.
Although the company does not run that many outsorsed programmes it does do everything that it can internally. Vauxhall motors really do value their undergrads.

There are many variables to getting a job with Vauxhall in the future. However if you are seen to treat your placement year with the upmost respect and work as hard as you can then your chances of employment are very high.
The Culture
Unreal! Due to there being such a large community we all stuck together and got on amazingly.
Average £250-£300 a month including bills.
I was quite sceptical about moving to the area, however after living here for over a year I can say that it is a cracking night.
Three peaks challenge, london to brighton, Vauxhall fashion scout, department football, Vauxhall rugby and more.
