The Role
I found it very enjoyable, mostly due to the people i worked with. everybody was really friendly and made me feel able to ask questions (even ones i thought might sound silly).
I felt very valued, as the project i was given as my main task was central to a change in process for the team. this meant our work often overlapped and as such i felt very much included, as i was!
my manager and buddy were very helpful, and held regular 1-2-1 meetings with me to check my progress and how i was feeling i was doing. whenever i wanted to experience an aspect outside of the team my line manager was very supportive and arranged for me to do so where possible
there were days when i could have been a lot busier, and felt a little useless. However, in contrast, there were other days when i felt i had not enough time to finish what i wanted to.
i was given a fair amount of responsibilty, i was allowed to handle sensitive data etc
the computer skills i acquired will be invaluable throughout my degree and career.
The Company
friendly and relaxed. very little 'office politics'.
the CSR project was poorly managed. in a team of 8, because i was Project Manager, i ended up doing the project pretty much single-handedly. noone checked on the team progress so i had no power to make my team help out.
they definitely invest time in you, 1-2-1s are regular and people more than happy to take time out to talk you through their roles and business areas.
Subsidised/Company Gym
