The Role
Really enjoyable, gained a lot of experience
Received compliments from colleagues on a regular basis regarding my performance
Support given when asked.
Lots of interesting work to keep me busy.
I was given a large amount of responsibility during my placement, which helped me build significantly on my skills.
This placement really allowed me to build on my skills and develop new skills, skills which I will be able to take with me and apply to future jobs and throughout my career.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere, everybody is happy to provide help and advice.
It was the first year the HR Intern placement had been run, therefore initially the work was slow, however once the role developed this significantly improved.
I attended some training classes both online and onsite to help improve my skills required for the role. For example I took part in interview training which allowed me to interview a number of candidates for roles at GE Aviation.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I would definitely consider GE as an employer in the future. There is a lot of opportunities globally with the organisation, and not only in Aviation.
The Culture
Yes, there was a large Graduate and Intern population, with many social events organised throughout my placement.
I was local to the area, so was lucky enough not to have to pay rent. However the cost of living is relatively average in the area.
Lots of really nice bars, restaurants and clubs in the area, so you're not short of things to do.
Lots of opportunities to become involved in volunteering in your spare time with other graduates and interns working for the business. Along with several clubs and networks you can join, such as the Early Career Professionals Organisation and the Women's Network.
