About You
I enjoyed the chance to get to see how a large company such as Centrica works, and how all the different divisions work together. I also enjoyed meeting like minded people and learning more about the energy industry.
I didn't feel they focused enough on the engineer division of the company which is what I registered my interest in before the day.
There was a lot of support during the insight with graduates there to take any questions the leaders of the day could not answer.
I believe the CV advice will be useful for applying for future jobs and Summer placements. It also gave me a good insight into how working at a company of that size would be like as well as getting me thinking about future placements I should be getting to increase my chances in the world of work.
The Company
It was well structured, with the schedule of the day clearer laid out at the start. It was also the right length of time with a pleasant refreshing walk in the middle.
Atmosphere was very friendly.
They spent time on what qualities they were looking for and we did a team building exercise to improve our communication skills.
They had a lecture on what Centrica is about, as well as detail about the difference divisions of Centrica and the different roles.
They went through the aims of Centrica as well as the traits they look for in people.
It made me think about what sort of career I would be interested in having as well as what I need to do to get there.
Everything Else
Reimbursed travel up to £50.
Yes, students, graduates and employers.
Good
Yes, we got an office tour which included their staff gym and pod used for yoga. The graduates also talked about the socials they got involved with.
Yes, although not so much if they were going into the engineering side of the company.
