About You
The employees are really friendly and were there ready to answer any questions that we have. The team exercise was really interesting as the organizer related the game to the problems faced in working life well. However, the insight day was a bit too short so not much information can be conveyed.
The organizer kept on thanking us for attending the event which makes me feel valued. Everyone had the chance to ask questions after each presentation. However, there were too many participants on this event so did not get much chance to network with the graduates.
We received an overview about what the company does and this would be helpful for application in the near future. The group exercise showed how important teamwork is and some other important lessons were learnt during the session as well. The presentations delivered by the graduates were informative. CV workshop was helpful as well.
I learnt that skills that I have picked up in university will assist me in my future career even though the course might not be that relevant to the job. CV workshop was helpful as it consisted information that should and shouldn't be written on CVs. Team exercise helped me realize the importance of a responsible employee in an organization.
The Company
The start of the event was delayed due to poor registration. The schedule was tight as the event only lasted a few hours with many programmers going on. The networking lunch was a bit too short so did not have much time to network. Overall, they tried to keep to the time which was excellent.
The employees were really friendly and were always there to give advice to the participants. The participants were also very friendly and everyone whom I met chatted about their experience which was really interesting. The office facilities are great. Also, the office is at a great location as it is located near the station.
The company had indirectly helped me to realize the soft skills that are really important in working life. This was through the group exercise and the presentations delivered by the graduates. The event could have been longer so more things could be covered or in more details.
We got the chance to tour round the office. We got the opportunity to see all the facilities that are available in the buildings. The graduate that brought us around the office explained to us how the working hour is like. Some graduates also mentioned about the trainings they received when they first joined the company.
Not much of the company culture was explained to us. A bit was mentioned by the graduates during networking.
The content of the day was really helpful. The information about what the company has to offer to students and graduates was delivered to the participants. However, it wasn't given in much details.
Everything Else
Travel expenses up to £50 can be reimbursed provided the receipts are retained.
There was opportunity to network with graduates during lunch. However, the ratio of graduates to participants were too small so not much chance to do so. Also, the time during lunch was too short. Not much chance to meet other employees besides graduates.
First hand information obtained from the graduates which are really informative. However, not much time was given as we were tight on time.
They did not mention to us. Neither did I have a chance to ask due to lack of time.
Yes, an informative and enjoyable day. The event could have been better improved though. Definitely worth going if interested in utilities.
