The Role
Highly enjoyable experience. Couldn't have asked for better 5 weeks!
The team that I worked with was extremely friendly. I was the only intern in the team and was working with 5 other people from Deloitte. Everyone was very welcoming from day one as well as during the internship. The work that I did during my time was highly valued.
My manager was extremely supportive. Having no background knowledge of the project, he really helped me get up to speed with everything that had been taking place before I joined. Also, he was there to answer any questions that I had during my internship. Apart from that, I was assigned a Buddy which was a very useful informal point of contact,
The day was evenly spread out. There were times where I was under pressure to meet a deadline but at other times the work was fairly chilled out and relaxed. Went to socials with work people after work too!
I was thrown into the deep end from the 1st day. It was quite challenging at times but I enjoyed that challenge. As an Intern I am fairly satisfied with the amount of responsibility that I was given.
I feel like I am a far more employable individual now. The soft skills that I picked up during my internship will not only help me with my degree but also put me in a better position when I join back Deloitte as an analyst!
The Company
Very collaborative. Everyone from analysts to consultants to managers to senior managers and partners were on the same floor! Generally a very friendly atmosphere.
Everything happened fairly smoothly. The correspondence with HR was fairly quick and efficient. There were loads of socials planned every week including the welcome dinner as well as leaving drinks. Everything was planned very efficiently with no short comings.
There was induction and IT training for the first 2 days, The Partners talk that was arranged was also very useful as there were a lot of points mentioned on personal development at Deloitte. Having talked to analysts, I found out that Deloitte takes the development of its employees very seriously and invests heavily on them,
Working from home
Will be interviewed for grad role soon. I feel fairly confident that this is where I want to work!
The Culture
Yes, socials were arranged every week where all the interns were invited,
Lived in a flat in central with a friend (£140 per week rent) All the socials arranged by Deloitte were already paid for!
Chancery Lane/Bank - vibrant areas in the heart of central London! Truly a city that never sleeps.
Yes, drinks with work colleagues as well as Ping Pong with other interns.
