The Role
I really enjoyed my placement in the HR department of VWG UK, the people at head office are amazing to work with.
Great emphasis is placed on recognizing the achievements of others and time is regularly taken out to note team and personal achievements.
The management team provided guidance on the role from day 1- There was also lots of opportunity to attend training.
The role was very busy and really demands great time management. I enjoyed this though at times did feel the team was under resourced.Time flew by.
I was given lots of responsibility and enjoyed being in control of managing my own workload and deadlines.
I really see the skills I developed in time management, attention to detail and communication will be invaluable in the future.
The Company
Very good- the department really got on well with each others and this made the atmosphere really enjoyable.
The work placement overall was well organised, more focus could have been put on picking up with the undergraduate cohort at more intervals throughout the placement- rather than the start and end as a means to be able to reflect on placement with stakeholders other than direct supervisors.
Training was excellent and i took advantage of many training courses, some were on site others off site which made a great change to the average working day.

The company is fantastic to work for and I would recommend to friends and family.
The Culture
Yes , however Milton Keynes isn't the most student friendly city.
Fairly expensive, accommodation is relatively pricey as it seems to house commuters to London so prices are a little more than you would hope for basic rent properties.
There are clubs in MK, however the short commute to London is an advantage.
Social activities are advertised on the Group Website.
