The Role
The programme was offering a sandwich year placement within the Information Technology and Shared Services team at Siemens UK. During the programme I was exposed to a range of business and technology challenges. I was asked to work collaboratively with international teams and be expected to identify local improvements to the way we conduct our business.
“... Adrian has shown outstanding dedication and is a quick learner. He started his internship with minimal knowledge on the topic of intranet and sharepoint and now he is seen as the guru of both areas across the team as well as the whole department. Adrian is an excellent team player and he works well with the team and shows great support to his colleagues. “ “I must also say a big thank you to Adrian for the great work he has done on the site to make it look and feel so professional !” “Adrian delivers work to a very high standard and always delivers really quickly. He's dedicated to doing a good job. He questions when he doesn’t think something's right and pro-actively makes suggestions on how things can be improved. Well done Adrian, you're an invaluable asset to the team, and the wider IT community.” - Colleagues
There was a lot of support, and understanding from my manager as well as clear guidance on projects, different tasks and priorities.
From time to time it was getting very busy, but for me personally, it wasn't a problem as I wouldn't expect a flat work load for every day. Some projects will always take more time and resources than others.
Full responsibility and trust been given from the very beginning which it was quite positive and encouraging for me.
My placement at Siemens added toward my proven project management record. Through different challenges, I've strengthened my business knowledge and IT skills, sharpened my leadership skills and communication skills through the projects and day-to-day involvement. I have done my best performance and added value to all the projects I have been working on which is been highly appreciated by the company.
The Company
There was a balanced atmosphere
I'd say that it was well organised and planned.
It was a complex internship development program that I was part of and through which I felt that the company invested a lot in us as interns.

Yes
I think this depends from person to person - but I'd say maybe @ £200/week - it can be more or less
I have not been out much in the evening but when I went out it was ok.
Many opportunities but sometimes can clash with the workload/deadlines
